Filament 03:05
We are submerged, Sub dermal, Isolated, Scratching at the tar beneath our skin. Hunger is numb, Excitement pangs. We get lost, Loose the swarm under the lights. Without fear, We shine across the sky, We’re alive! Dissonant fuels resist, One dims, So one insists on light, Upon closed eyes, Until all is bright. We are contained. Quietly, We buzz like filament, Burning from within. The glass is soft, Electrified, And paper thin. We get lost, Loose the swarm under the lights. Without fear, We shine across the sky, We’re alive!

When I stop finding work so fun, I’ma come undone. If I can’t sweat and earn respect, Well, lord, I’ll never get none. How am I supposed to reach my path, Through all this ego and baggage. They’re screamin’, You’d best be ready to jump, when I say jump, It’d be better to grow. When I was taller, I’d never let it alone, yeah, I would fight, Until my fingers, Became bloodied bone, I would die a man who spoke his mind. Turn the radio down, I’d belt out alone, But now I’m small, And I don’t make a sound, I just inhale, Confusion is all I have now. Being blessed with friends so strong, You’d think I’d stretch out tall. All their shadows looming long, Looks like the sky might fall. How can I find happiness, When being crushed by giant heads, They’re laughing, You’d best be ready to roll when I say roll, It’d be better to grow. When I was taller, I’d never let it alone, But now I’m small, And I don’t make a sound, I just inhale, Confusion is all I have now.

Insanity 04:47
Insanity, Begs answers, Without seeking truth, Or Fact, Or Reason at all. They climb up our shoulders, That they might see the sky, Shoving, Thoughtlessly, Downwards, With their feet. Until the platform, Upon which they stand, And have always stood, Collapses, Beneath the surface of confusion and fear. The structure crumbles, And down they fall, Without remorse, Or awareness, Of the travesty that they’ve wrought. If things were meant to fall, Do well wherever you land. We’re fucked either way! Perhaps things are meant to collapse, they suggest, As they abandon their ruin and run away. If things were meant to fall, Do well wherever you land. We’re fucked either way!

about

Inspired by (extremely) dusty Baltimore basements, a seriously eclectic love of shit-kickin', and the emotional journey that accompanies a major life-changing event. Filament is Patterson Trash's premium demo, and a solemn nod to nearly three years of bond-building between three pieces of human detritus.

A special thank you to Producer Stephen Frank, whose counsel helped shape our early sound.
