Filament was written about the isolation and sensory overload that accompanies insomnia. It grew into a celebration of restlessness, and a desire to embrace life.
lyrics
We are submerged,
Sub dermal,
Isolated,
Scratching at the tar beneath our skin.
Hunger is numb,
Excitement pangs.
We get lost,
Loose the swarm under the lights.
Without fear,
We shine across the sky,
We’re alive!
Dissonant fuels resist,
One dims,
So one insists on light,
Upon closed eyes,
Until all is bright.
We are contained.
Quietly,
We buzz like filament,
Burning from within.
The glass is soft,
Electrified,
And paper thin.
We get lost,
Loose the swarm under the lights.
Without fear,
We shine across the sky,
We’re alive!
